How It Started

The Northern Virginia sideline hustle is real.

Every sports parent knows the routine. You're up before sunrise loading the car — tent, chairs, a cooler that barely fits, snacks, a bag of things you'll probably forget. You drive an hour to a field you've never been to, haul everything across a parking lot in the dark, and set it all up hoping the sun doesn't shift by game three.

The Insight

Sideline Society was born from that exact frustration. Our founders — a Division I athlete turned nonprofit executive, a clinical social worker who supports teen athletes, and a digital strategist trained in Design Thinking — all lived the sideline hustle firsthand as travel soccer parents and team managers.

They saw families spending their entire weekend managing logistics instead of watching their kids play. They saw parents missing moments because they were chasing shade. They saw the toll it takes — not just physically, but on the experience of being present.

So they built something different. A service that removes the burden entirely. You show up. Everything is already there. You spend the day cheering, connecting, and being in the moment — not managing gear.

Vanessa brings the rare combination of high-level event coordination experience and deep personal knowledge of what it means to be a sports parent. As a soccer mom, team manager, and youth coach, she's been on every side of tournament day — and she built Sideline Society because she knew it could be better.
